Sustainability at Northern Power Garms

At Northern Power Garms, we're not just about making great clothes. We're also passionate about taking care of our planet and the people who make our garments possible. Here's how we're doing our part:

Built to Last:

We print clothes designed to last, not just for a season. We believe in investing in quality garments that you'll love for years, reducing the need for constant replacements.

Ethical Sourcing:

We want you to feel confident that your NPG clothes are made with respect for people, communities, and the planet. That's why we carefully source our suppliers, only working with those who are SEDEX, WRAP, or Fair Wear Foundation certified. This ensures fair labour practices and safe working conditions throughout our supply chain.

Second-Hand Love:

We've created a Facebook group where you can buy, sell, or swap pre-loved NPG clothing. It's a great way to give your clothes a new lease of life and reduce waste. ♻️

Print to Order & Reduce Waste:

We print most of our orders on demand, minimising overproduction and unnecessary waste. The only exception is our shop stock, which we keep to a minimum.

Eco-Friendly Printing:

We heat press print with PVC-free vinyl that incorporates recycled blended polyesters, backed up by certification from Control Union. Our eco-conscious transfers play a vital role in sustainable apparel decoration, using water-based inks which are a greener alternative to traditional plastisol inks, being free from harmful chemicals. Our direct-to-film transfers utilise these water-based inks and are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, ensuring sustainable and responsible manufacturing practices.

Plus, we will be fully switched over to 100% recyclable, sustainable paper mailers printed with plant-based inks by the end of 2024. 🌱

Recycled Materials:

All our business cards and stickers are printed on recycled paper and card. Every little helps, right?

Fairness & Local Production:

We're a small but mighty team of three, and we're proud to pay our staff above the living wage. All our clothing is printed right here in Halifax, supporting local jobs and reducing our carbon footprint.
